Nice to meet you! I’m Melissa.

Trained in the art of dreadlock creation, dreadlock maintenance and repair, extensions and caring for dreadlocks. I waited a long time to get my own dreadlocks and I’m so happy to be able to help you get yours, I can talk you through the process and answer any questions you may have, I probably had the same questions when I had my own dreads made!

The best advice I can give you about getting dreads made is to do lots of research and ask lots of questions about methods used and the aftercare and support offered. Its also worth checking how much experience the loctician has. Who were they trained by? Dreads are a commitment and a labour of love. Having them made well in the beginning is the best way to get your dread journey underway!

Dreads are very special and will be totally individual to you and your personality. So many people tell me that their lives have changed for the better since getting dreads which I find so interesting, and I love hearing the stories. It’s the Dreadlock Connection!

Please know that I take my work very seriously (whilst still having fun!) and am part of a network of trained and certified locticians who offer this natural method to form, maintain and repair dreadlocks using a simple crochet hook. I work full time as a Loctician, and I am generally available five days per week. I am a so passionate about dreads! I love them!

I only work with certified Locticians, to give you a high quality and well made set of dreads. There are no mixed methods or untrained assistants here and I don’t just call in my sister, cousin or neighbour to help make your dreads you only get the real deal every time. I have been working as a full time Loctician since 2016.

My studio is a very relaxed and comfortable environment for clients. You can find the studio in North Brisbane in the Moreton Bay Region in a peaceful location, with natural bushland surrounds. Approximately half way between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. I have clients travel from all over Queensland which I am very grateful for. Accomodation options are coming soon!
